Founded in the summer of 1975 by Scott B. Bizar, the company’s first publications were the wargames Gladiators and Royal Armies of the Hyborean Age. Fantasy Games Unlimited, often referred to as just FGU, is a publishing house for both table-top and role-playing games. FGU has no in-house design teams and rely on submitted material from outside talent. Since its inception, FGU has incorporated dozens of different role-playing games, more than any other company.

In 1989, Fantasy Games Unlimited won the All Time Best Ancient Medieval Rules for 1979 H.G. Wells Award at Origins 1980 for Chivalry & Sorcery.

FGU is a publisher of fine, quality role-playing games and support materials. FGU does business with integrity and pride and strive to make every adventure a lasting one. Aftermath, Bushido, Daredevils, Flashing Blades, Merc, Privateers & Gentlemen, PsiWorld, Space Opera, Villains and Vigilantes, Year of the Phoenix and Star Explorer are just some of the main titles published by FGU.
